This is the Official Ball of the Townsville 400, an event not to be missed. Your evening will include appearances by V8 Supercar drivers, the official event Grid Girls, the XXXX Angels and performances by the fantastic nine-piece band the Oz Hornz. The evening is complemented by an extravagant food and beverage package with the function being hosted by a special guest MC.

Land Down Under Presents: “The Tropical Coast Tour” – 80’s Festival.

Daryl Braithwaite, Mental as Anything and Pseudo Echo

On Friday the 24^th of July, three acts come together at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre producing a line up with over 3 hours of solid live entertainment that you don’t want to miss.

With songs being belted out like “The Horses” and “As the Days go By” Daryl Braithwaite is always a pleasure to listen to. Having over 30 years experience performing and being such a wonderful musician he is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Mental as Anything brings highly listenable, idiosyncratic brand of garage pop to this tour and will perform top hits like  “Nips are getting’ bigger” .Mental As Anything are an Australian New Wave–rock music band known for their albums, singles and music videos. The group formed at art school in Sydney in 1976. Initially performing without a name, they were first billed as "Mental as Anything" in May of that year at a Chippendale Settlement Dance.

PSEUDO ECHO  pioneered the new 80s electro-pop sound in Australia, soon establishing themselves at the top of the Australian charts with Top 10 hits such as “Listening” and “A Beat For You” from their Gold selling debut album “Autumnal Park”.  The band then scored their biggest worldwide hit to date with their version of “Funky Town” ( 12 weeks at the Number 1 spot ) , which later featured on their Platinum selling follow up album "Love an Adventure" ... Also including the hit singles "Dont Go" , "Living in a Dream" and the title track "Love an Adventure”.

Eskimo Joe’s North Queensland fans can see their favourite live act on the ‘INSHALLA AUSTRALIAN TOUR’ Saturday 29th August 2009 at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre.

For a band whose sound has taken giant leaps forward, from 2001’s ‘Girl’ to 2004’s ‘A Song Is A City’ and on to the four times-platinum mega hit ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ Eskimo Joe have stepped up to again prove why they’re one of the most heralded and enduring rock bands around today.
