The Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference 2012 will be held at Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre and Jupiters
Hotel from 19th to 22nd August.
The theme for this years Conference is ‘A new era in health and safety’ which acknowledges that the industry is growing rapidly therefore special attention will be paid at the Conference to the new safety and health legislation, along with the interrelated challenges posed by the skills shortage and the high percentage of inexperienced workers.
The speed at which the industry is growing can produce situations where the workforce is in harm’s way. The Conference will help identify where they can reduce pressure and improve health and safety across mine sites.
